In Dec 2008, Twitter was growing at a phenomenal pace. And although its still experiencing growth, its nothing like it was back then. It's also interesting how no really massive players have emerged in the space in the intervening period. When you think how relatively quickly Facebook usurped MySpaces position as the predominant social media platform, I find that fact interesting. Surely the internet isn't maturing!! It is interesting reading this discussion about social media a couple of years later to get a feel for how the social landscape has altered.
