I agree with him on how SM allows one to get their foot in the door when other means would fail.

Exposure to a broad swath of people, ideas, and multiple POV&#039;s are worth the price of admission! 

For past few months I&#039;ve dabbled with SM tools, I&#039;ve met more people and learned more than in the past year at work!  Now that&#039;s my ROI.

Very soon after we launched our creative marketplace in May 2008, it became clear that social media would play an important role in our growth. There is a tremendous amount of noise on the Internet, which makes it difficult to build a community. Twitter, Facebook and other social networks have helped us to grow our community and to deliver great customer service. 

And we intend to do even more in 2009.
