It does seem strange that so many companies are still adhering to the scatter gun approach – blast everything in sight and hope some sticks. Sure, it will work sometimes, but the success factor is shrinking all the time. Channeling energies into focused approaches – internally as well as externally – has to be the way forward.

Well the title got me clicking, but the message is solid. It's funny when potential SEO clients approach me and I ask them to describe their audience, it's something like "everyone". That makes it very hard to target the right search phrases, never mind create the right links and the right content that will draw a big audience beyond just the search engine rankings. Oh well.
