WOW is all I can say. I hope that SEO comes back to bite this company in the rear end. Hopefully, the next time someone Googles this company, your blog post will show up first. Goodness gracious...I respect you for handling it how you did, too. Wow.

Wow that is terrible. Being customer freindly is half the job of being a moving company. How else are people supposed to trust you with their belongings? We used a Charlotte moving company for our move and they were comforting and friendly.

Great points! The only company I would give negative feedback is doing it with the company I kept when I did the move myself. When I moved to PA from NJ, I needed a company, so I went with one with good customer feedback instead of the other NJ Moving Companies. They have a good website, http://www.starcitymoving.com/ , and my stuff arrived in good shape.

I had a similar experience with them approx 2.5 years ago with Logan Moving.

My wife (who is Chinese) was looking for a moving company to move our apt 2bd to a 2bd about 15 min away.

I believe its not the movers them selves that is the real problem as they get paid for every move and have to conform to the polices of their employers.

The method that these guys use is to show up late giving you no other option as moving is a time sensitive issue, then ask for a deposit (catches you off guard and scrambling to find quick cash).

Any inquires are met with hang ups and foul language and at certain points such as threats of causing bodily harm or even death threats.

Next take their sweet time usually with breaks or lack of proper equipment. making a 3 hr move into 6 hrs.

Arrival at the drop off point starts nightmare number 2 as they will call the office and give you a bill for 2x what was quoted and hold your stuff as hostage.

The reason they say the cost is double is they multiply the amount of time to load by 2, assuming it would take the same amount of time to off load.

Upon paying cash as no other alternative is available. they move like lighting to off load.

I lost a floor lamp as items moved by them grow legs and walk off the truck.

I have recently looked at the reviews for this company and almost everyone of them had a piece missing.

I can say only one positive note and that no glass items were broken.

If I can lend a hand in some way I would be glade to help.

I recently saw that another company using the same tactics were shut down due to an investigation BUT they operated for 8 years before they were shut down. Thats not good enough, such people need to be shut down with in the first year. I would advice a splash campaign using chain letter (must list the other 10 companies that are aliases and a blog listing reviews and suggested alternative companies. The only way to get these people is to let everyone and I mean everyone know and what these people do.

Oh I remember the name of the person we delt with was a George (Hangs up a lot and uses foul language and even threatened to come to my home to cause bodily harm).

Bringing the news into this like routers would be a blessing but I am sure near impossible to do.

The best way to get back at them is to prank call them, and give them different address and let them waste money going to false houses, if this happens allot, they would know which is true client and hopefully they would go out of business.

I'd like to add another company to the never-ending list of crappy movers....

Do NOT use "Friendly Movers Inc"...they are absolutely terrible. We had booked them (2 weeks in advance of the move date) for our moving and were told they would call us back 2 days before the move date to re-confirm the booking. When I didn't get any call back, I ended up calling them back. To my surprise, they had gone ahead and cancelled my reservation with them 1 day before the move!! And they didn't even bother to tell me this!!

Apparently their reason for doing so was that they did not like the fact that we had asked questions such as whether they were bonded/insured, what the cancellation policy was, etc. What the heck?!?

Aren't consumers expected to gather as much information as possible to ensure that they are getting what they pay for? What kind of company are these people running?

On the same note, I told the owner that I, as a consumer, had every right to inquire about the company before paying any money (especially since I've never heard about this company before), including investigating for feedback online...if you look around, there is nothing online about this company at all!! This was sketchy to begin with already...I guess I should have trusted me initial instincts.

Word to the wise...DON'T USE FRIENDLY MOVERS INC.!

I'm so shocked to read that this happened to you. I think I used these guys last year, but they used L&G. I'm relieved to say this didn't happen to me. I've moved plenty of times before, and I knew there were going to be those "extra" costs. No moving company I've ever moved with was ever really just by the hour. All I can say is make sure you move with a reputable company. There are so much people out there ripping others off, pretending to be companies they aren't. Go to their office, talk with a manager face to face so you know exactly who you're dealing with. See the contract before your moving date. I know there are other companies claiming to be Logan Moving, or being a sister company to them only to find out that they are fired employees of Logan. I referred them to my family and friends, I hope there are others with good experiences that can share it online, they weren't horrible on my move.
