Playing for Change the World Over
An initiative to change the world through music, the Playing for Change Foundation brings musicians together to spread the organization’s message worldwide. From community shows to concert halls, Playing for Change events are everywhere thanks to the likes of Youtube, video blogging and more.
While this blog mainly talks about social media and its effectiveness as a business and marketing/PR tool, sometimes things just transcend all of that. This is one example and why I’m happy to share it.
Besides, it’s using Youtube and video blogs to market the DVD/CD so it’s still relevant!
I hope you enjoy this particular Playing for Change video as much as I did, and thanks to Iggy Pintado for pointing me in its direction.

Nice way to start my morning.
I used to work around the corner from Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade — where our video opener/closer was playing — and, seriously, the street musician/performer scene is reason alone to walk through that corridor.
Music is the universal language…and a universal mood lifter, motivator, heart string puller..and quite possibly the ultimate social networking tool, too.
Thanks for sharing, Danny!
i was just about to watch this… but you're sleeping and i didn't want to wake you.
I can only imagine the time and effort that has gone on in the background for this – but it is a great example of how a great idea and the help of many can tell a brilliant story.
Exactly. And though there's obviously a lot of work gone into it, the concept is simple and helps make it as strong an example as it is.
Couldn't agree more Teresa – no matter what mood your in, music simply effects and affects in equal measure.
