Interesting. I never thought about cow-pooling and how much people could benefit from pooling something else. That's really something. Fact is, even in freelancing there are tons of things that could be done pooling if you find the right person/people. Often I heard many goodness can be obtained out of social networking, perhaps by practicing pooling method we can have wider opportunity and better service providers.

And you're right, Kasey – community-building goes a lot farther than traditional businesses. And the same could be said in reverse – it's not just the tech industries that are using tech to grow business now. Some great convergences all round.

Being from the Midwest and growing up with family members who farm, this is a common practice for me. Buy a cow, sell it to friends & co-workers. Save $$ and get better quality meat!

But I see the point you're making. Community building isn't solely for traditional businesses/organizations. Think outside of the box on how to utilize social media. People have a sense of belonging to a common interest, so go out and organize!

Perfect example David – who says there aren't great local web servers that can handle your business needs as well as the nationals or internationals? Like you say, the possibilities are endless.

I'm a vegan, so I'm not going to cow-pool anytime soon – but I like your message here.

What about web host-pooling? A local business community could buy a server farm or co-location to share.

This could work in so many different areas.
