I love the idea of a hub and especially your themes - connection, conversations, community. They're just what I'm aiming for. Sure I'd like to make some money but if money was my primary motivation, there'd be other ways of turning it. I love writing, discussing ideas, writing and more writing. Besides, if I didn't have a place to park my thoughts, I'd explode (or suffer from cognitive constipation)! 'A versatile publishing platform' works for me too. Self-hosted WordPress blogs, especially, open the possibilities up so much that I don't think I'd ever go back to using a "standard web design" for any future projects. Though I have been known to change minds before... ;-) Great example of Duct Tape - perfect mix of blog/website hybrid.
