An Invite to Pimp Your Blog

Mr BlingSo this week’s been really quiet on here, due to a particularly busy project over at Maritz Canada. Now that project has at least resorted to more normal activity levels, I’ll be jumping back in here and reverting back to normal frequency.

First up will be the continuation and conclusion of the 7 Days to Turn Your Blog Into a Social Media Hub series, and this will be followed by some thoughts I’ve been having around operational social media and marketing differently. So, thanks for your patience during this recent quiet spell – really appreciate it.

But before all that, I’d like to ask you a favour – share your blog.

Leave the URL and a little info about it in the comments section (don’t worry if it doesn’t appear immediately – I use a filter for multiple links, but I will publish any filtered as soon as possible).

You kindly come here to read and maybe share a post or two with your community; now I’d like to do the same. The comments are yours to share your blog with us. And while you’re there, make sure you check out some of the blogs left there – you might just find some great new reads.

Thanks for being you, guys.

Here is mine - about Caribbean, but also travel in general: http://www.caribbeanexcursions.org

This really reminds me of a TV show in MTV called "Pimp My Ride", which they will transform your old crap car into a brand new entertaining one. Pimping blogs are one great way to help these blog owners get attracted by their visitors or subscribers.

I'm anew comer to the party but glad to be here! It's a classic move by moi, either to early or to late - mama!

I started a blog here http://www.markedbythemuse.com It's a creative living art blog. It employs art and the creative process in navigating the highs and lows of living an artistic life, one that is moves through the shadows of the starving artist into the light of a thriving artist. Would love for you to stop by and share a few tips to improve the site.

hi Danny,
My partner and I have a Day trading Educational website and we sell custom designed indicators for trading the futures markets. I am looking for Social media and others ways to drive traffic to our site(read free or cheaply) There is so much spam about Currency markets and other trading vehicles making you rich overnight that it is hard to separate as a legitimate service from that. I am a newbie marketer, but enjoyed the first few videos I viewed from you. Thanks again

What a gracious offer. I'll mention both my sites, since I am totally into being pimped. Hope that's OK.

I teach children who have reading problems, or even can't read at all, how to overcome it and succeed in school. The neat part is that I've figured out ways to do it online, so it's very convenient for parents who are overworked or short on time. http://yourchildwillread.com

My other site is a blog that explores ideas about what to do now that I'm suddenly 57, almost 60, really, became unemployed, and turned to blogging to see if I can carve out a new life for myself. http://almost60really

To be honest, even though I don't earn much money yet, both have been the saving of me! I love the teaching I am once again able to do, and it's fun on the other blog to write about things that matter to me.

You're one of my heroes, Danny. Thank you.

Sorry, missed the URL in the trailing comment.

I'm a very creative individual who loves to write and draw. My drawing reflect my mind's wiring, I create images unintentionally through randomness. My poetry reflects the way I see the world. I keep this blog because I love what I create and love to share it with others. moaimagination.blogspot.com I started in October and have over 700 views! Thanks!

Thanks for letting us do this Danny. This blog is an unashamed plug for a children's home that I support in rural Ghana .
Thinking of a GAP year or a holiday with a difference. Read my latest blog What are your holiday plans this year? http://t.co/TADkVON

I have been staring at your invitation for hours. I would type in my blog then erase it again. The process would repeat for several more minutes. You see, it's a really tempting invitation and through it, I have gotten to learn more about your readers by clicking on each link.

But as I come to learn more from them, my insecurity increases. I feel that it's so good to read your thoughts but I feel so inadequte. I'm interested in lots of things like social media, tech, business & finance and lately, PR and advertising and I want to cover all of them in my blog. Each day that's what I'm trying to do and I hope to accomplish.

So here you go: IJustDid.org
http://ijustdid.org - Where creativity meet reality.

When I decided to start a blog I thought about my biggest complaints with online content and I concluded that the biggest gripe I had was that many people didn't post content often enough. My goal was simple: post every day and always include an original photo. The topics I cover are varied; I have posted lifehacks that I have discovered (and use), little anecdotes about my photos, and a couple videos. You can find my blog at http://blog.djcrocker.com

This is a great idea and there are certainly a lot of people eager to share their ideas! I have enjoyed looking at some new blogs, and I still have a lot to go. My blogs are about divorce (www.dick-price.blogspot.com) and Collaborative Law (www.texascollaborativelaw.blogspot.com). I would appreciate anyone's suggestions.

Hi Danny, glad you are well my friend. My blog is at http://www.robertbcairns.com .

I typically write about social media, business/life and technology. My slogan for my blog is Engage, Enrich, Communicate. Learn, Prosper because these are five words I believe in and feel every day.\

I should also add that my blog is based on the great Headway theme.

What a wonderful idea, thank you, and that's quite a list of blogs to go and visit.

My blog, The Ruka and Kuusamo Travel Guide (http://www.rukakuusamo.com) is a travel guide to my local area, Ruka and Kuusamo in Finnish Lapland, one of the last true wildernesses left in Europe and somewhere everyone should visit at least once.

My other blog, Notes From Lapland (http://www.rukakuusamo.com/notesfromlapland) is my personal blog about my life here in Lapland and how different it all is from where I am from, the UK.

Right, off I go to check out some of the other blogs in these comments...

Hi there... thanks for the offer! I went through the comments and visited some of your blogs too, everyone... :)
Anyway, my blog/website deals with TMJ disorder (yep - jaw problems). Very few people know that over 35 million people in the US alone have TMJD....in any case, if you know anyone who has it, send 'em over! :)
I don't make any money with it at the moment, I'm kind of between a rock & a hard place as far as how to monetize it. Anyway, thanks for the post Danny... and keep up the good work everyone.. your blogs are awesome! :)

Hi Danny,

Thanks for doing this. Lots of new blogs to check out now and add to my RSS reader and more people to interview :).

I have to two blogs. One is BlogcastFM (http://www.blogcastfm.com), where I interview 3 bloggers every week and get them to share their tips for success. AT this point there are probably about 70 interviews with bloggers. The list includes A-listers, Published Authors, and many up and coming bloggers. Recent interviewees include Scott Stratten from Unmarketing and Ramit Sethi

My other site is TheSkooloflife.com, where I write about surfing and personal development.

Thanks for giving us a chance to connect with other bloggers and pimp our stuff.

Danny, I enjoy you blog very much. It is full of great and useful information. Thanks for letting me "pimp"!

In a way we are starting from scrathc once again as we only this week on Monday moved our blog to Word Press. I am excited about having a conversation about what matters to me in terms of talking about issues relating to family history, preserving family history, genealogy, data successorship and most important of all taking the time to not only think but say something to the most important people in our lives. People who we dont's chase online and people who we tend to forget but with the reminder begin to realize that we need to spend and have a conversation with the most important people in our lives.
I look forward to having a conversation around this subject matter.

A friend just forwarded me the link to your blog and this post - thanks for the opportunity to pimp my blog! And thanks for that brilliant photo of the cat in bling - nothing makes me laugh more than cats in clothing!

My blog is The Quarterlife Quest http://www.thequarterlifequest.com/

I started this blog to create a forum of inspiration, ideas and help for those of us who are in the midst of change in our 20’s and 30’s (or whenever!). I think it’s important for all of us to realize that we’re not alone and that we all have it within ourselves to live the life we want. :)

The blog still needs a bit of work on the design side (I just launched it 1.5 months ago), so feedback is certainly welcome!

My blog is Productive & Organized - Finding Your Way http://www.ProductiveAndOrganized.net. As a productivity expert I have found that many people think that they should fit their situation into some pre-made solution. Unfortunately, this technique fails for most. We learned in pre-school that the square peg does not fit into the round hole, but when it comes to business systems, we sometimes forget that rule! My blog is for executives, entrepreneurs and producers that want to be able to do more with their information, time, space, their profit and most importantly -- their life. Hi there ;-) I actually have two blogs, one I started in 2006 to talk about the emerging web jobs called http://blog.profession-web.ch/ (only in french though). My activity lead me to create an agency called netinfluence and for which I also created a blog http://blog.netinfluence.ch/. In this one, every single employee shares its knowledge with our readers. The blog has both french and english articles and just got repimped. We are working on a very interesting social presentation of our online presence, if you are interested to be posted when live, just drop me an email :D Best from switzerland ;-)

Danny, How'd I miss this?! Such a smart and generous idea, I've added a bunch of folks to my Google reader and Twitter feeds. LOVE.

My little blog, an occasional series of PR and social media rants, http://www.3hatscommunications.com/blog/, is Atlanta-based solo PR pro with some ideas, an iMac, and an attitude that's just me (bottle of wine optional).

Ciao to You all and thank You so much Danny for this wonderful idea/opportunity to share and discover new great readings!

Wow, this is a great list of blogs! What a fun idea.

I recently moved my blog from Blogger to a self-hosted WordPress site (http://nikkistephan.com) and gave it a new name - Essential Elements. It's still a work-in-progress as I get acquainted with WordPress.

The topics I discuss focus on what I believe are life's essential elements, i.e. creativity, happiness, passion, success, love and inspiration. I work in the public relations industry, so my posts will sometimes relate to PR and social media.

Regardless of the topic, my posts always center on something positive in nature. :)

This is really an extraordinary opportunity to discover new blogs. My favorites I post as top 20 reads and yours has been there since I started top 20. Maybe I'll discover my next top 20 from your "commenters" here.

My blog INCLINED TO DESIGN is an eclectic collection of articles covering (so far) design, project management, personal branding, SM, China, Sales & marketing and entrepreneurs, all written from my "designerish" perspective. I was told non focused eclectic blog posts wouldn't work but I went ahead with it anyway! Working or not, I enjoy writing and my readers; clients, former clients, friends and many of you appear to enjoy my take on things.

My latest post "About me" http://www.esse-group.com/wordpress/ by popular request.

Hi Danny,

It's taken me almost a week to keep up with all the comments you've been getting on this post. Thanks so much for doing this as I've discovered so many amazing blogs and people to follow!

And now, it's my turn!

I'm Aleksandra - a communications & social media professional living and working in beautiful, bustling Toronto. I'm a self described communications junkie trapped in a tech geek's mind.

I started my blog to stop sacrificing all my great ideas to the washing machine gods. You see, I always experience my eureka moment somewhere random - whether at the grocery store or at the gym. So I'm usually penning these ideas on whatever scrap of paper I can find lying around or in my purse. Subsequently I find these scraps a week later in the pocket of my freshly washed pants barely readable. Hence I started my blog.

I called it "Famous Last Words" because they may actually be my famous last words – for better or for worse. My blog is a hodgepodge of ideas about branding, social media, technology and the world around me.

Let me know what you all think of it!

Famous Last Words: http://alisaan.wordpress.com

Cool! I'll jump in on this.

Our blog is http://blog.affinityclick.com and we talk about all things related to contextual advertising, blogging, blog monetization, social media, online advertising trends, and so on.

We also like to have some fun with our blog, so we'll talk about our recent experiences and will be blogging about our community - both online and offline! We love our cities and enjoy one of our offices as being located in the heart of Downtown Ottawa as well as one in Potsdam, Germany. So we'll talk about being out and about here and abroad.

Thanks so much for letting me post! Have a great day, everyone!

best,
Marie P.
