Great approach, Karen, and I'm sure you get lots of repeat guest bloggers as well as new ones because of that. Like you say, common courtesy goes a long way - thanks! :)

I've recently expanded my blog with guest bloggers, and after a recent disappointment (I used a guest blogger and the guest blogger never mentioned me, linked to me, nada), I came up with my Guidelines for Guest Bloggers - I send them to all proposed guest bloggers. I've yet to be asked to BE a guest blogger. I think it comes down to common courtesy - or The Golden Rule. On my blog I thank people, I link to people, I list Sources, I write to contributors to let them know the post is going up, etc.

Frankly, it hard to be even accepted as a guest poster on other blogs. One’s composition must be well written and interesting enough to be accepted. Fortunately, I have had my share of luck but I did not make good on some of the rules you have stated here.
Should I have my opportunity next time I will take heed of your advice here.
