Welcome Back, #12for12k
Back in December 2008, I launched the 12for12k Challenge with the help of some great friends.
A social media-led charity initiative, it was a project that I always had belief in, but you never know how something like that will go. Thankfully, because of you, it went better than I could have ever hoped for.
It’s been quiet the last few months, as other commitments have eaten into time and resources (everyone involved in 12for12k gives their time for free). However, that’s about to change.
Come October 1, 12for12k is relaunching with renewed vigour. The current Facebook group will be migrating to the 12for12k Facebook page (and a message has been sent out about the change), while the website will be undergoing a revamp to be more interactive. A newsletter will also be coming your way soon (you can sign up below).
I want to thank everyone for supporting so far – none of what we achieved could have happened without you, and I hope you continue to be part of the 12for12k story.
We’re just getting started. Ready to continue the good fight?
Follow 12for12k on Twitter, or connect on Facebook.

When I joined Twitter in December 2008, your 12for12K advocates were among the first people I followed. I do a lot of work with non-profits and was intrigued by the concept of raising awareness and money through social media. I was new to Twitter but gladly contributed to the Save the Family effort. I followed a few more of your campaigns and now readily reference the effort whenever I talk about social media for the non-profit sector.
I am creating curriculum now for the LodeStar Center for Non-Profit Management on the campus of Arizona State University. Program participants are engaged in all aspects of non-profit management and they have been asking for a social media program for the past two years. I am honored to have been asked to develop and teach this program and I fully intend to reference 12for12K as part of that class. The curriculum will be completed by late September and I will teach the first two-day program in mid-November so your October launch will be quite timely.
I look forward to what the next phase in this effort will be.
Kind regards, Abbie S. Fink
Looking forward to join you in the new reincarnation of 12For12K, Danny.
Good luck – God Speed – and I’m always a shout out away
