Chris Pearson AKA @pearsonified of Thesis theme

First, for anyone not on Twitter that’s wondering why the post title looks so funky, it’s just one of the ways you highlight a specific person.

If you are on Twitter and you use self-hosted WordPress as your blogging platform of choice, you’ve probably heard of the Thesis theme, one of the most popular premium WordPress themes around.

Its creator is Chris Pearson, who’s @pearsonified on Twitter. He’s had a rough time lately, with his theme coming under fire from WordPress over licensing issues (now resolved) and his partner at DIY Themes (the makers of Thesis) leaving the company to go to a competitor.

So I thought that it’d be cool to maybe help put a wee smile on Chris’s face and share his love of the TV show Glee with you.

Now. Take a look at the image of Chris at the start of this post, and then watch the video below. While the YouTube user calls himself Nick Pitera, I think it’s clear that Chris is using that name to allow his Glee alter-ego out.

What do you think, guys – new vocation for Chris while building Thesis 2.0? ;-)

(This post includes a video. If you’re having difficulties seeing it in your feed, you can watch it directly here).

This is SOOO funny, Danny!!

Thesis was my first theme when I started blogging. I still love the look of it, even though I've now switched to Headway. I can't help thinking Chris'll come through his challenges well.

Especially with a voice like that!!

@ChristineLivingston Agree completely, Christine. When the whole WordPress/Thesis thing was going down, so many folks jumped in to say it was the end of the theme. Particularly when Brian Clark left to go work with Brian Gardner over at Studiopress/Genesis.

But when you build a product that is so clearly loved and supported by a large userbase, you're not going to disappear anytime soon.

Especially with a voice like that. ;-)

Good one Danny,

I've enjoyed the video! and yes I think Chris deserve support for all his great work! although he didn't respond to one single email I sent to him, but it's cool (busy guys) :)

@hishaman From what @JohnHaydon was saying below, yep, sounds like Chris has a lot on his plate on top of Thesis. Be interesting to see what comes next from DIY Themes. :)

I saw Chris at BlogWorld yesterday. I remember thinking his voice sounded like estrogen. ;-)

On a serious note, what struck me about Chris was his vision for making useful tools for developers. He might be discouraged (although he didn't look it), but I think he'll come out on top. Smart guy, lots of drive.

@JohnHaydon Agreed, mate. There's no doubting Chris's passion for his products, evident by how he doesn't want to release anything until it's ready. Can't argue with that kind of drive.

Great performance by Chris, he could definitely get a permanent gig here in Las Vegas (opening for Cher?) if he so desired!
