The Power of Ideas
I’ve written before why I’m passionate about creativity being allowed to shine.
Without it, we’d be left in a boring world where only the few would have a say in what we watch, say or do. Companies would be filled with drones, businesses would be drab affairs, and artists would be virtually non-existent.
We wouldn’t have videos like the one below, either, and that would be a shame.
Taking a fantastical look at the cityscape of Toronto, the video shows the immense scope a person has when their creativity is let loose.
Sexy might not always sell when it comes to business – but that doesn’t mean we can’t mix it up once in a while. Agree?
(For a cool interactive experience, check out the Batelco Infinity Facebook Page. And hat-tip to Randy Matheson for making me aware of the video.)
This post contains a video. If you can’t see it properly in your feed, you can watch it directly here.
I think that inspiration has been the major driving force of change in human history and as long as we're inspired to make our lives even better, we'll definitely see more innovation to come. This gets me pretty excited on what the future brings. Be inspired! Stay inspired!

Wow - amazing. I'll pay for the feature movie right now!
Thanks for bringing the fun. A great reminder for passion and excitement!
Absolutely amazing video. I love the journey the little boy walks through so much..plus its in TO :). My son is leaping into the video production world and he was delighted to see this. Life and business must be an adventure! Thanks for making my Monday end in such a cool way.
jonathansaar I love that line, Jonathan - "Life and business must be an adventure." Here's to it always remaining that way - and to your son making the next inspiring piece!
Stunning. Every day I am grateful for something and today it is this..
The joy and innocents of a childs immagination is lost as we age and place stringent rules of engagement and procedures on ourselve thus constraining our creatitivity in everyday life. Only people and companies that remove these artificial boundries are able to think and produce differently. One example of one who was an orginator of this ideal was Sony who has since lost their way but we can make.believe......
Max360 Sony used to be awesome, didn't they? Whatever happened to the guys that were brave enought o bring something like the WalkMan to market?
DannyBrown Like many well intended growing enterprises, over the years individual engineering teams grew into kingdoms and each garnered their own success for many years until th eworld went digital and the multiple categories of products and services coud not or would not work together in this new dynamic world. Products all using different GUI, remote controls and raw materials adding costs and complication. Old Guard in transition to new is still underway and lagging the world creative leaders like apple, google and others.
Danny - I have to admit that this video is one of the few things I've seen that make me actually want to visit the company's Facebook page. Thanks very much for sharing this find. Very cool stuff!
jasoncrouch Wait until you start messing about with the interactive video app, mate :)
DannyBrown I can hardly wait. :)
Hi Danny. thanks for this. I am Dyspraxic and thus tend to see and do things differently, and creatively. This really is not always appreciated in orgs, but I am learing to value it and am taking the steps towards self employment. If it's good enough for david Bailey it's good enough for me :)
janebinnion David Bailey is awesome, Jane :)
And the way I look at it, it's the companies that don't encourage creativity that are missing out.
This was an amazing video danny and thanks for sharing. You are truely correct about being creative and coming up with things that no one else would ever bare to think of.
Danny - agree with your notion that creativity is critical for success, especially for marketing and PR pros. Anyone can follow a process, that isn't really what is valuable. What's valuable are creative ideas, and will continue to be as the digital industry formalizes further.
adamsinger What surprises me is that it's usually the creative teams that get brought in last to a lot of PR and marketing projects, Adam. And then businesses wonder why they didn't get a lot of love... ;-)
At 1:35, the billboard reads, "The flag in our hearts is the one in our hands.
That's key to the video and your point.
Ari Herzog Nice spot, sir.
I dig the video. I recognize a bunch of the sites and the race cars in the mall reminds me of Mario Kart.
MarkDykeman I have visions of you being Toad.
DannyBrown Luigi all the way.
Danny,
This video is nothing short of fantastic! I think many people don't realize how often we explore our very own sense of creativity. This video captures just that!
byderekj Agree, mate. Not often a vide can really capture the sense of wonderment - now imagine if we could have this in augmented reality too? ;-)
DannyBrown byderekj WOW! You used the word "wonderment" Danny and that is exactly what this video brings - it is also what creativity should create.
Here's to creativity!
