Social Mix 2012

Last week, on Thursday July 26, Jugnoo’s inaugural Social Mix 2012 conference took place in downtown Toronto.

A social media/business event, it saw the likes of Gary Vaynerchuk, Amber Mac, Geoff Livingston, Gini Dietrich and many more talk about building your brand and business success through social media.

Feedback has been amazing, and I was incredibly proud of the Jugnoo team pulling this off in just over three months!

I’ll be sharing more from the conference soon, both here and over at the Jugnoo blog – in the meantime, I just wanted to share my presentation, based around social search needing to be much smarter as we move forward and how good businesses will adapt to go beyond scripted responses.

 @Cindy Rangel Small Busiesses don't have the luxury to have analysts coach them while they plan their strategic imperatives for next 4 years. ;) Listening and I mean Strategic listening is the only way to gain that additional insight into making that right decision. Social Media Marketing is no more. We all hate it. Business through context is another beast.   Bilal Jaffery

You guys did a fantastic job on the event.  It was my first time in Toronto - which I loved.  All of the people were great.  The best part was meeting people in person for the first time like @Danny Brown hessiejones and @ginidietrich .  It is hard to believe that was the first time for that event.  Thanks for everything.

thanks for sharing the slides, I have never heard of this event, but it looks good.on a side note I remember looking Jugnoo for a client a few month ago, it seems to have come full circle, I have to check it out again.

 @Mustafa Khundmiri The easiest thing to do in social media is to just listen, Mustafa - you don't even need to "be active", the insights you can gain from listening can be filtered anywhere. Now we just need more businesses to understand that... ;-)

I love color scheme. I am waiting for the surveys I mailed out yesterday regarding the impression your color scheme has on the public. I should have my report for you by September 1st after we receive them all back. Tabulate by hand. Then type your report manually.

Brilliant fun Danny. Loved it! And it was my first. There has been some chatter on a few blogs about the conference which also good. I made a brief reference on my post today (couldn't help myself) in context to focus and what it takes to maintain positive direction.  I got so much from that conference and got to meet a ton of great people and new connections t_burrows and @yasserpervaiz  specifically. Both great Canadians.    Thanks to you and Jugnoo for making it so easy to have a good time and for your banana's story. Hilarious.

 @rdopping @Craig McBreen I think all of Canada lives in Ottawa and thus it was just a bus ride to the event is what I was told. And they gave out free coffee. So that is why all the canadians you know were there.

Sounds like a fantastic event and great speakers too.All we  need to remember is that the conversation is no different now to what it used to be, when talking to the relevant people and communities the added extra is a little speed and more connectivity.  What some people need to know is what makes a good conversation - a clue > it's not the technology :)
