Because You Need To

22 Shares 22 Shares ×

A lot of questions often get the same answer.

Why do I need to be on social media? Because you need to.

Why do I need to blog? Because you need to.

Why do I need to make videos as a promotional tool? Because you need to.

The funny thing is, because you need to is often mistaken for because I have no idea what the right strategy is for you.

Might want to keep that in mind the next time someone tells you because you need to.

I've definitely been in this position in years past. Throwing everything at the wall, hoping something sticks, but more often than not wasting my time for very little return. It's only more recently that I've tried to adapt more of my work to the Pareto Principle, where I focus more on the 20% of work that brings 80% of the results. I admit I still waste a lot of time with various sites by trying out different things (some of it time well spent when I find something new that works) and there is definitely more cutting I should do in order to improve my focus.

My mentors didn't tell me "that i need to" instead they always advice me that I should try them one by one and observe which is more effective. In that way, I was less stressed and determined to focus on one thing at a time.

Sounds like your mentors knew exactly what they were talking about, John - here's to more like them. :)

Fear and insecurity drive a lot of our decisions. It is problematic.

And it's that exact fear and insecurity that the unscrupulous trade on, sadly...

Hi Danny. Wow – Short piece of advice, yet so powerful. And yes, Too many people tend to use the excuse of “you need to” without proper backing up their claims. Bad advice from an “so called expert” can really damage your Social Media and Marketing efforts.

Hey there Anton, That's the thing, mate - it's all well and good saying "because you need to", but at least show me irrefutable reasons why that's the case. Otherwise, why should I listen?
