While commuting recently, I saw a post over on Medium from Mike McGrail, entitled?Humans Have Lost the Plot.
In it, Mike bemoans where we?ve come (or not) as human beings.
It?s a post we can all relate to in some form or another. From it,
When did manners become the exception? Disregard for the people around us is at staggering levels. Is it poor-parenting? A generational issue? The subjects above span many age ranges though. The mind boggles.
This part, in particular, resonated with me, so much so that I wrote this response.
A Revolution Against Dickheads
Parenting definitely plays a part. Telling kids they?re always better than others, pandering to their needs, not stepping up to the plate when they?re misbehaving in public.
The lazy ?parents? who?d rather dump their kids in front of the TV or latest video game instead of actually, you know, parent.
Then we have the ego of social media and Internet fame.
Used to be you could get a little reputation at school, and grow some popularity, because of antics.
But at least it stopped at the school.
Now we have YouTubers and Instagrammers who think they?re hot shit because they have millions of followers. So, what ? they?re expected to be assholes and get away with it?
The world is going to shit and no-one seems to care. Except they do. You do.
We need to push back and raise better people, be better people, and expect more of those around us. My grandad used to say the revolution would come as the lower classes rose up against the upper ones.
Personally, I?d rather see the human classes rise up against the dickhead ones.
You in?
